Scouting

Stand location is as you can imagine a very important thing.  If you don't scout right you may miss that shooter.  I begin scouting in last august through september.  I like to walk around and find a deer trail and just follow it.  Some will lead to an even bigger trail with more deer traffic.  When I find something like that I like to put out trail cameras to see what is using the trail.  I prefer using Cuddeback Trail Cameras.  Trail cameras are nice because they tell me when deer are moving.  Either during the day or night like this picture from my last bow season.

Many bow hunters try to find where deer are going from bedding areas to a food source.  Once I find a spot I want a stand I try to find a tree that allows me to shoot to my left because when I draw my bow back it is much easier aiming.  Once I find a tree I make sure that I have good cover so i am not seen easily, but still have good shooting paths.

Gear Prep

I find it especially important to be prepared before I walk into the woods to go deer hunting.  At the beginning of the season I make sure all my scent lok clothes are washed with a special scent cleaner that washes out all scent from the last season.  Next when I am ready to walk in the woods I put on my scent lok clothes I make sure they sprayed down with even more scent killer. 

I found out how important that was one day when a big buck got my scent one day in the stand.  Finally, it is important to wear gloves and a mask to hide myself even more.  I like to wear rubber boots as long as it doesn't get to cold outside because the rubber don't leave a smell on the ground when I walk to the stand.

Importance of Online Brand

It is important to have your brand on line for many reasons.  It shows people who you are and what you do which is important because without that how will you get your name out there and keep a successful business moving forward.  An online brand is easy and cheap so you do not have to pay alot of advertising to get it out there.  Basically to sum it all up having a brand online shows it to a bigger audience.

Shooting a Bow

 

In order to shoot a bow there are many steps that need to be taken first.  After you get a bow you have to adjust the draw length so it fits you.  If it is too long your anchor point will change each time you draw back.  Along with adjusting the draw length the arrows have to be cut to that length.  Once thats all done and you are ready to shoot you need to draw the bow back and pick an anchor point on your face. Many people use points like the side of their mouth or nose. 

While you are drawn back you need to have a slight bend in your bow holding arm.  This will help when releasing the arrow.  After you aim the pin where you want to shoot you need to squeeze the trigger release.  Once the arrow goes out of the bow and your arm should not move until the arrow hits the target. And that is how to shoot a bow.



Hunting is a huge part of my life.  Even before I could hold a gun I wanted to hunt.  I would always go out duck hunting with my dad and watch as him and his friends would pop out of the blind to blast some ducks.  I was always told to stay down and in the back of the blind so I don't scare away the birds.  Not only do I like to duck hunt, but deer hunt.  More recently I started bow hunting and am loving every day I can get out in the stand.  There is something self fulfilling about taking a deer with a bow and arrow like back in the old days before guns were made.
